Warrioring Lupus with Charis Sanford

Charis, a mom of three with many titles reflects on life, work and motherhood with Lupus. Lupus is an inflammatory disease which has been found to be three times more likely in African American women than our Caucasian counterparts. Having been diagnosed at such a young age with no prior trace of the disease in her family, Charis was unsure how it would impact her life or her ability to have children. Three pregnancies later, Charis has beaten the odds and learned more about how to treat her body and what it needs .

In this episode, we talk about Charis' journey navigating her invisible illness, motherhood and ways she has learned to communicate her needs in an effort to reduce her stress and maintain her health.
